Player’s club members did not have access to their account information while playing the slot machines. We decided to pro-actively provide an app that gave them access to important account information when they were in the casino.
I first needed to understand how the customers would use the app. I did this by walking the casino floor, talking to the business, gaining education on the player’s club rewards system, and looking at competitor’s apps. I collected and mapped the account information we wanted to display on the app. The goal was to make the information as accessible as possible in an environment full of distractions.
Then I created wireframes for each screen on the app. My primary focus was presenting the player data so the user could quickly measure their progress. I displayed the tier credit meter and tier credit history using numbers, colors, and shapes so the information was presented visually.
In the final mockups, I incorporated the desktop site’s UI styles to keep the app familiar to the user. Once the final mockups were approved, I delivered the assets to a 3rd party developer to build and deploy the app. I oversaw the app development to make sure the final app mirrored the design and functionality I created.
